28. TV Dramas

Why do people like TV dramas? In this episode Adrian and Austin discuss why this like and dislike TV dramas. Adrian has never watched a TV drama but Austin is a big fan, each share their thoughts and opinions about the genre. Finally we contemplate if the best comedies and shows are secretly dramas the whole time.

27. I've Got a Bad Feeling About This

With the release of the next installment of the Star Wars anthology this weekend, Adrian and Austin discuss their fears about the upcoming Solo movie. We think about what would make it a good movie within the context of the rest of the films as well as how the classic hero's journey might not work. Finally we take a look at the character of Han Solo and discuss if he is still relevant in today culture.

26. Paddington

Paddington is one of the best movies ever! Adrian and Austin give a brief synopses of both of the Paddington movies and talk about their favorite moments. We discuss why they are both fantastic films for all generations and what life lessons we are taking away from them. Finally we talk about what makes a good story and if more children movies would give us better movies in general.

Why do we like stories that break the fourth wall? Adrian and Austin talk about different movies, books and tv shows that add humor and depth to their characters by being "meta". We look specifically at Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey and compare it to Marvel's Deadpool. We try to understand why people like Deadpool and debate if it successfully uses "metaness" to it's fullest potential.

24. Infinity War - Kant vs Bentham

Is Thanos right? In this episode Adrian and Austin do there best to not spoil Avengers: Infinity War as they discuss if Thanos is right in his pursuit of the destruction of half the universe in order to save the other half. We avoid spoilers by getting down to the essential argument of Kant's duty ethics vs Bentham's utilitarianism and talk about how that fits into the story of Infinity War and in life in general.
